Onset Bay

It's important that you make sure that you have the tide in your favor while passing through the canal and that you clear understand where the channel is for entering Onset Bay. 'Encore', our sloop, draws 5'8" so depth shouldn't be a problem for you.

John
Glad I hit on your site. My husband and I are planning our 2 week summer sailing excursion and have been thinking about heading up the Canal. My husband has never been too keen on the Canal idea, however. Tricky. For the past few years, we have vacationed around the Vineyard and Nantucket. Anything you can suggest? Restful, quiet, interesting, convenient harbors, etc.
Onset looks appealing. We draw 5 feet. Any problems there?
Thanks,

This is where I spent my summers as a kid. I sure miss it.

To the north, Onset Harbor isn't really a "roadstead". It's actually a sheltered harbor but I'll mention it because it's my favorite place to wait out the tide for the trip through the Cape Cod Canal.
