Stayed overnight here again just a couple of days ago while I was bringing Encore back to her summer mooring in Provincetown from her winter berth in New York. Got a good night's sleep with good holding (used a 35 pound CQR). Still seems a fine place to anchor for the night, but there sure are a lot of trap floats!

This artificial harbor was built to support the coastal trade but, by the time it was finished, the coastal trade was a thing of the past. Point Judith HR is wide open to the wind, so you won't be happy if your boat likes to sail on its anchor, but there's good protection from seas. We were once trapped here for five days aboard 'Encore' during bad weather. We were pretty comfortable until Nutmeg and Rosemary-the-Sailor-Cat ran out of cat litter. Then we had to head on, storm or no storm!
