Port Jefferson Harbor

When we stopped here last fall we found it much less hospitable than it had been in the past. They even wanted $6 per hour for dinghy tie up. The wake from the ferry, which was always a problem, continues to be a problem.


Port Jefferson is about half way out Long Island Sound. There used to be a downtown grocery which made this a perfect place to re-provision but last time we were there it had closed. The restaurants were still worth rowing in for.
