South Street Seaport Museum's 2001 Tug Tours
New York South Street Seaport Museum's 1930 tugboat W.O. Decker woll once again be taking small groups of passengers on guided tours of the waterways of New York Harbor on Saturdays in spring, summer, and fall. Five itineraries are offered that take passengers from the gritty Brooklyn waterfront to the greener shores of the hudson Valley. This is a rare opportunity to explore some of the nooks, crannies and hidden byways of New York Harbor usually seen only by those who work in these waters. Each four to six hour trip is led by an experienced museum guide and includes a box lunch.
SailNortheast toured New York Harbor aboard the Decker with the Seaport Museum's staff on June 19th, 1999. Click here to see our photographs from that tour.
Built to work in New York's narrow canals, the Decker is smaller than the average tug, enabling her to go where larger vessels can't venture. Her small size also means that passenger capacity is limited to six, making this a very exclusive adventure for a lucky few.
Tours depart the seaport at 10AM in April, May, September and October and at 9AM during June, July and August. Cost is $105 for museum members and $125 for non-members, box lunch included.

My fiancee's birthday will soon be here. He has always had an interest in tugboats, and I thought I would surprise him with a tugboat cruise for the special occasion. I would like some information (rates/schedules/itineraries on this. Thanx!
