Harbor Voices, Terry Walton's new anthology of articles by and about the watermen of New York Harbor presents one of the most thorough, complete and cogent pictures of the working waterfront of New York that I've ever seen.

As huge and sprawling as such a creation has to be, Ms. Walton has condensed and capsulized its parts into a neat collage that makes sense of the complex interaction that is New York's working waterfront.

A copy of the Brian Rogers review which appeared in the Feb. 9 - 25, 2009 issue of the Battery Park City Broadsheet is included to the right and an article from The Sea History Press web site is included below.

Harbor Voices, published by the National Maritime Historical Society, retails for $19.95 and can be ordered on line at www.seahistory.org or by mail as explained in the Working Harbor web site
